We will negotiate the project’s cost, deadline, and payment schedule before I start working.


I will send you the edited or proofread documents electronically to save time, money, and trees.


I will not intentionally share your documents with anyone unless you give me written approval or I am legally required to share them. I cannot guarantee the confidentiality of any information you provide (identity, contact details, and documents), because the internet is neither 100 percent secure nor 100 percent anonymous. Thus, I will not accept any responsibility or liability if the confidentiality of your information is compromised.

Quality of services

I provide high-quality editing and proofreading services, and will revise my own work if you are unhappy with the results. If after I revise my work you are still unsatisfied with the results, you will receive your money back if you agree in writing not to use any part of my work (that is, the edited or proofread text).

I take no responsibility for the content of your document or for its usability for any purpose. I cannot guarantee that your material will be accepted for publication.

Ending a contract

You may end the contract at any time and for any reason, but you will be billed for the deliverables I completed up to day you end our contract unless you’re ending the contract because of an event of force majeure. I may end the contract at any time and for any reason; if I do, I will give you a full refund.


I am a sole trader and never outsource my work. We will decide together the deadline for my work. I will do my best to deliver my work on time, but please understand that in events of force majeure (exceptional events beyond my control), I may not be able to meet deadlines.


If you are a repeat client, you will pay for my services (see Pricing) within 10 days of the completion of the project.

In general, if you are a new client, you will pay for the project up frontIf, however, you email me from your institutional email address (for example, yourname@youruniversity.edu), we will negotiate a more relaxed payment schedule for you (for example, half of the fee payable up front and half within 10 days of the completion of the project).

Accepted payment methods

I accept payments via PayPal (if you don’t have a PayPal account, you can pay by credit card via PayPal) and bank transfer. In exceptional circumstances, I may accept other payment methods.


In order to prepare your invoice, I will need your details, including your name and tax address, or company name, address, and business registration number. If you reside in the European Union but are not a business owner, I’ll also need your tax identification number.


When you pay me for my editing or proofreading services, you automatically become the owner of my work (that is, the revised text). If you fail to pay me, I will hold the copyright to my work.

We may agree on additional terms when negotiating our contract.
